SULTAN SULEYMAN THE SECOND

(1642 - 1691 )

Suleyman the Second was born in Islambol, too. He was trained by his mother's great efforts. He was of middle height, thick bearded, fat mild and sane.
The military usurpers disturbed the public peace and order in the initial of his sultanate, but after some time, having gained power, he slaughtered most of the mutineers. He partly ensured public orderliness and peace. He took over the administration of the Ottoman Empire in difficult circumstances. He regained a lot of lands which had been captured by the Germans during the sultanate of Muhammed the Second. He was courageous, religious, patriotic, tenderhearted and courteous. He struggled against debauchery and bribery.

He appointed Kiuprili Fazyl Mustafa Pasha Grand Vizier in spite of great opposition. In his time, the Ottomans wared with Poland. Russia. Germany and Venice simultaneously and a complete victory was won against Russia and Poland: the Venetian powers were stopped; what is more, Belgrade, the whole Serbia, Nish, Vidin and Semendire were taken from the German Empire in 1690.
Hearing of those triumphs of Kiuprili Fazyl Mustafa Pasha, Suleyman the Second met him in tears of pleasure when he returned to Islambol from the mobilization. He took off his mantle and dressed it on him personally.

In 1691, the Turkish forces started a mobilization to conquer Hungaria once more.
Suleyman the Second ruled over his country for three years seven months and four days. He was just over 49 years of age at the time he expired. He was seeing off the Muslem soldiers owing to the mobilization against the European countries while he was deadly ill. His corpse was brought to Istanbul and interred into the mausoleum of Suleyman the Legislator. (May Allah have mercy
on his soul!).
Debbagh-zade Muhammed Effendi, Hadji Feizoullah Effendi, Feizoullah Fevzi Effendi were he Grand Muftis of his time. The noted genius Hafiz Othman Effendi, a famous calligrapher, the notable composers, Dede Effendi and Wee Effendi lived in his time.
Of the leading eminents of the Silsile-ee Sadat-1 Nakshibendiyye, Their Exalted Holinesses Sheikh Seif-ad-Din Ariph, Sheikh Othman Fazli of Atbazaar deceased in his era.

His cildren's names are not known.
